Turf Insect and Disease Control 

Fungicide Treatments will help control common fungal diseases such as Brown Patch and Dollar Sport.  A regular fungicide treatment program (4 per year every 21-28 days apart, April – September) will prevent these common Georgia fungal diseases from becoming a real problem for your lawn.

Spring Core Aeration

Mechanical core aeration will help alleviate excessive thatch, reduce water run-off and increase water penetration. Spring or fall is the best time to use aeration to enhance the development of a deep root system so that it can withstand drought, disease and insect stresses. 

The aeration equipment consists of a series of hollow coring tines. When these are rolled over the lawn, they puncture the soil, systematically removing small soil plugs. The equipment is compact and can be easily used in confined areas. 

The plugs of soil and thatch are pulled up and left on the lawn, as they contain beneficial microorganisms that will help to break down the remaining thatch. They will disappear back into the lawn in 7 to 10 days or with the first mowing. Raking the cores to break them up will speed their disappearance from the lawn surface. 

Aeration may be used 1 or 2 times each season. It is usually recommended for the spring and in the fall when soil is moist. For more information, please CALL or CLICK (click here for a free estimate)

Fall Aeration & Over Seeding

Aeration removes plugs of soil, allowing water and air to get down to the roots. Picture Perfect Lawn Care recommends this treatment at least once each year for most Atlanta homeowners, since we all have heavy, dense Georgia clay. The result will be a thicker, healthier lawn. Bermuda, zoysia and centipede grass are especially sensitive to aeration, so we recommend aerating in April, May or June.

Along with the Aeration, Picture Perfect Lawn Care recommends this procedure for fescue lawns only. It is done from September through November. "Overseeding" is laying seed down over grass to help it to grow thicker.

Grassy Weed Controls

    Clump grasses cover a variety of unwanted grassy weed types (ie. Crabgrass, tall fescue, dallisgrass, ryegrass and other mature cool season grasses). Our grassy weed treatement is for properties that want to remove the unwanted grasses from their primary grass type (fescue clumps growing in Bermuda).  Our two application program will control these unwanted grass types for the season.   

a.        Annual Bluegrass (Poa annua)

b.        Goosegrass

c.       Nutsedge which is a weed type that resembles grass but is technically a third weed type.  Our specialized treatment minimizes nutsedge growth and our three treatment program will guarantee control for a season.

Flea & Tick Prevention

 Our Flea & Tick Program includes 5
monthly sprays during the active flea and tick season. This is an outdoor
treatment that includes all of your property: Turf areas, natural areas,
shrub beds, under decks, etc.  Don't let these pest endanger the health of
your pets and family.

This service is a regular monthly services outlined agreement where we taking ownership and responsibility for your total landscape.  If it needs attention, we proactively handle it.  We schedule services monthly throughout a calendar year to make your life easier and to produce a Picture Perfect landscape.  We average your annual cost into one comfortable monthly fee. Our regular services include but not limited to:

a.        Mowing - includes trimming around obstacles, along walls and fences, and edging along curbs and sidewalks. Beds will be maintained free of weeds by regular application of weed killer where it will not damage other plants. Hand pulling of weeds, flower stalks, and seedling trees will be done as needed.

b.        Edging  all hard surface joined areas and boarders of bedding.

 
c.        Blowing - Cleaning of debris from curbs and sidewalks on every
service visit.

d.        Pruning - Trimming of bushes and removal of suckers and dead wood from trees is done on a continuous basis to keep bushes and trees neat and clean.  (This includes pruning of the crepe myrtles which should be done in January.) Clippings and other debris removal from property is included

e.        Fertilization & Weed Control applications to turf grass areas by
spray truck and backpack sprayers.

f.        Ornamental Trees and Shrub Care fertilization, foliar feeding,
Insect protection and fungus / disease control sprays
